Preston Park Food & Drink Festival
Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd July
New for 2017 we take our food festival format up the A1 to Leazes Park in Newcastle. The park is a fantastic setting for the festival and only five minutes from the City centre. Our hot food court will offer up some of the best street food traders around in their quirky vans and units with food inspired from all corners of the globe. Our array of local producers will be housed in our huge marquee and will be offering for sale their cheeses, chutneys, preserves, breads, olives, spirits, liqueurs and plenty more. We will have live music on stage throughout the day from local bands and artists (if you’re interested in playing please drop us a line!) and with our array of deckchairs why not sit back and relax and keep your toes tapping to the music all day long. Last but not least, we will have a whole host of speciality bars to enjoy a drink from including our real ale bar, gin bar, cocktail bar and of course pimms & prosecco! The festival would not be complete without some entertainment for the smaller ones so we have FREE children’s entertainment in our children’s marquee where our team will be doing magic shows, bubbleology, balloon modelling, crafts, party games and disco/karaoke plus much more over the weekend. Kiddy Cook will be offering children’s cookery classes where children ages 3 to 11 can learn how to cook a variety of dishes as well as learning the science behind food as well and to top it all off they’ll also be a funfair and bouncy castles. For those who feel brave enough we’ll also have a daily Man v Food competition on our main stage which are entertaining to watch but only those with guts and determination need apply! The weekend is a great place to meet up and socialise with friends and family so save the date now and keep checking back for updates when we add more information.
What's Going On
The acoustic Stage is a fantastic idyllic location for our acoustic guitar performances throughout Saturday and Sunday, surrounded by local produce.
Anytime you need a break to consider your next purchases or just get away from the hustle and bustle of the food court head over to the producer market and relax on the deckchairs with a pimms, prosecco or even a speciality gin.
It’s a perfect way to get away from it all and sit and enjoy some chilled out live music.
Big Events for Little People with Sandra will be in our children’s entertainment marquee daily keeping the little ones entertained with balloon modelling, magic shows, party games, bubbleology, crafts, disco/karaoke and much much more!
From the Mighty Matterhorn to the dodgems & giant teacups there will be plenty to keep everyone entertained.
